Destress in these uncertain times

Uneasy.

Uncertain.

Overwhelmed.

Stressed.

I asked the group for whom I facilitate a monthly tapping session how they’d been feeling about the state of the world these days.

Those were some of the words they used.

So I brought up something, unsure of how it would be received.

It was that while these are uncertain times, that since the beginning of time, everything has always been uncertain.

Personally, I find great comfort in this truth.

I was pleasantly surprised when one participant let me know that his biggest takeaway from the session was this new-to-him perspective. He found it calming and grounding.

That being said, I am noticing an inner hesitation about leaping back into “normal life” after so many months of dealing with the pandemic.

My extroverted sister and parents are chomping at the bit to get back to some kind of normality.

But I’ve always been more of an introverted homebody who has, in many ways, benefited from the quiet isolation that’s been present during this period.

And now, we’re being asked to return to regular life. Sort of. Depending on where you live, that may be various kinds of protections.

I’ve got mixed feelings about all of it, but I do know that I have been deeply enjoying seeing friends and exchanging warm, long-overdue hugs. I really missed that!

If you have been feeling unsettled, having hesitant or worrisome thoughts and feelings about returning to “normal” life so soon (for whatever reason, introvert or extrovert!), you are not alone.

I’ve created a tap-along video to help ease the transition and soothe any emotions that might be coming up.

Check it out here.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this and how you are feeling around this transition time!
